We are creating tables and chairs from the recycled trees the City of Grand Rapids cut because of the Emerald Ash Borer. Wow!
Hi Guys. We're Two Beards Deli, and we are going to be a restaurant in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. Soon we will be slingin' sandwiches all across this part of the land. We don't need your help for that, although it would be nice if you were hungry and thought of us every once in a while.
If you do get hungry, we are going to need your help in finding you a spot to sit, because we don't have any good places for you to do that. However, we have a great plan to enrich the community and allow you guys the comfort of not standing, all at the same time!
Since the Emerald Ash Borer appeared on the scene in Grand Rapids in 2009, you may have noticed a lot of of our neighborhoods have become, well, less ashy. We may not have lots of good ideas for fixing this problem, but we did come across a way of contributing; we are going to make our furniture out of some of the trees that the city has already cut down. In this way, we can be doing our part to assist with the reuse of all of the ash wood in our neighborhood.
So we are working with the local Studio Wise Design to get this ash wood off the streets and into our restaurant. Obviously, we don't have enough money to do this, or we wouldn't be asking for yours. Every little bit helps! Let's help to keep our local business local by picking up the problems in our own backyard, and then making some tables and chairs out of it.
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
We are just trying to do our part for our area's environmental challenges, and also make you guys a sandwich. We don't feel like there is too much risk involved, and sandwiches are not so much challenging as they are delicious.

If you think a high-five isn't awesome enough, I might suggest a fancy Two Beards button or sticker, to commemorate the good times. Your pick. Very fashionable, or very sticky.

Create and name your own sandwich. Subject of course to some mild vetoing, but seriously, you are going to look really cool showing up at our shop if you do this. Also ALL of your money back in caterings from Two Beards Deli! Do you want a throne? We can do that. Maybe. We'll check with our throne guy.
