12 Rewards From FETTI For Supporting His Debut EP, "Motivated".
WHO AM I?
My name is David Ortiz (FETTI), I'm from New York City. I'm a rapper and recording artist specializing in hip-hop and pop music.
WHAT DO I DO?
I'm a versatile performing artist who can write about a variety of subjects that range from moody; contemplative songs about survival and struggle to fun songs about young love and New York City night-life.
WHY AM I BETTER THAN THE REST?
I'm better than the rest. I know that there are a lot of new rappers out there, but what makes me DIFFERENT from the rest of them is my songwriting ("bars").
I am a STORY TELLER and I tell my stories through the recitation of lyrics with rhyme, rhythm and melody. In rap music, we emphasize the rhythm as opposed to the melody when compared to a ballad. My style of rap is at the head of my class.
In addition, I work FAST (songwriting, studio recordings, etc.). I'm RELIABLE and the quality of my songs are CONSISTENT. My DRIVE and determination to be the best is UNMATCHED among my peers.
The video above highlights my work on "Big City Lights Mixtape Vol. 1", hosted by Detroit rapper, Big Sean who I am likened to.
WHAT DO I NEED FROM YOU?
I am looking for you to help me fund my next recording project. Its being produced by Hakim Callier of RemarkableMIX at FLUX Studios. I need $12,000 to cover the total costs it will take to record, mix and master my debut EP titled, Motivated.

THE JON SCHWARTZ CONTROVERSY
FETTI recorded a remix for The Wanted’s, “Glad You Came” during the Spring of 2012 as well as seven (7) other songs. This project was the first of a string of cross-over Progressive Rap songs that were being developed with RemarkableMIX and Executive Producer, Jon Schwartz.
Jonathan Schwartz, booked more than 60 hours of studio time to eventually stiff the studio and ditch the rappers, leaving an amount over $5,000.

The mission is to increase the entertainment community’s diversity, creativity as well as quality control, in order to provide the listening public with unique and satisfying premium quality creative works in music.
We have gathered a talented group of people to ensure the success of this project. Experienced individuals who have been key players in the production and management of several commercial record releases.
Producing a record requires equal parts of obsessive attention to detail and reckless abandon. It requires a strong leadership and an innate ability to understand with humility. Hakim Callier will carry this torch; he has accepted the responsibility.
In the past five months FETTI has established a working relationship with Hakim Callier as a producer and Chris Sipes and Daniel Sanint, Managers at Flux Studios. We have successfully recorded nine (9) songs, two (2) were mixed and mastered and one (1) featured on released by World Latin Star media.
The biggest challenge in recording music is time management. It is always the biggest hurdle making a commercial record. Because if you don't manage your time effectively the studio costs can quickly go over-budget.
The way we have addressed the "time management" issue is day-to-day scheduling. Obviously in music there needs to be some exploration but staying ahead of the schedule is almost more important than artistic brilliance because it keeps morale up and pressure minimal. This allows for a more successful workflow for record making.
The rewards are based on monthly blocks of activity. A group of rewards will be scheduled for delivery each month from November 2012 through May 2013. These will occur during down periods where no work on the recording project is happening.
Also keeping the workday under 12 hours and weekends off is essential. I'm sure there may be a situation where we are approaching the 12th hour and we will absolutely need to finish a take, but generally speaking this principle will keep creativity fresh and the work environment pleasant. Even musicians need a weekend!
Personnel management is also a challenge. C'mon, we are asking for $12,000 which is not chump change but still, it isn't a major record label recording budget. In fact, its about $113K short of the mark for a major label release in 2012.
That said, we have commitments from experienced studio personnel to perform the supporting tasks like arranging, assistant engineering, and additional support (interns) to help the sessions run smoothly. Although we won't have a great deal of money to pay these people, which always presents a risk, they will receive experience and credit for their work as well as countless amounts of kindness and appreciation.
Additionally, there are several key items that aid the success of a recording project. We will focus on: clear communication, minimizing mistakes via checks and safeties, correct documentation, being prepared before we actually step into the studio, trust and a chain of command.
At the end of the day the artist, producer, studio and support staff are a team. This will not be the first time we have worked together as a team. We were successful in the past and produced some great music. We would like to do it again, but unlike last time where we were left at the alter waiting, we would like your support by way of your pledge to help us do it.
This is going to be great!
