About this project
Tomorrow is Chananun Chotrungroj’s second year film in the graduate film program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Chananun was inspired to make the film after reading a short story, ‘Dao Duek Dam Ban,’ by celebrated Thai author, Prabda Yoon. The production is supported by the NYU faculty, which includes award-winning filmmakers such as Spike Lee, Todd Solondz, Alex Rockwell and producer Margaret M. Rajski.

Story:
Ron is a burglar in New York who spends his time sipping espressos
at a coffee shop while studying the movements of the wealthy Kean family that
live across the street. Having watched the household for months, Ron has
become very familiar with their daily routines and personal habits. Every
Saturday, Ian Kean, a successful movie producer, takes his wife, Ellen, and
the kids out for a formal family dinner followed by a movie. Armed with
this knowledge, Ron decides to rob the house during their outing. He waits
until the family leaves the house and then carries out his perfect plan. Ron
breaks into the Kean home easily and begins to look for valuable items. While
searching for jewelry in the rooms, Ron takes his time, leisurely sorting
through and re-arranging the family’s personal belongings. Suddenly, he hears
the family return home unexpectedly. Ron quickly hides in the bedroom closet as
he hears them come in. While he tries to devise an escape plan, the door bell
rings. An unexpected guest changes everything.
Process:
As an NYU student film, the production
of this film has been made possible through the school's camera, sound and grip
equipment, as well as insurance and post-production facilities. However, all
other expenses such as location rental, transportation, production and costume
design, food for cast and crew and marketing and promotions for the film would
have to be provided for entirely by the director herself.
As a student in one of the most expensive cities in the world, Chananun lives
on an extremely tight budget. Any funds you are able to donate, no matter how
big or small, will be a tremendous asset to the production of the film. The funds
will also allow Chananun to properly market the film with a website while
providing for application expenses for entering the film into national and
international film festivals and competitions.
