I need help to fund a recording project - my first jazz vocal DVD. This project will use live to 2-track analog audio and a 2-camera shoot to DVD format. The performance takes place Friday, November 12, 2010 at The FireHouse Cafe in Mount Holly, New Jersey. While I have been fortunate to fund my recording projects in the past, I need help at the wire to make it happen with less than one week before the scheduled recording date.

I am a moonlighting artist with a day job and a passion for jazz music and music education. I have been working to develop a way to connect jazz vocal performance with younger listeners who are open to an honest voice and pure quality of sound. I believe the music industry is poised and ready for change. It is my goal for this DVD recording to provide a kick start in changing the direction and quality of mainstream popular music. JAZZ NEEDS TO ATTRACT AND EXCITE YOUNGER AUDIENCES IF IT IS TO SURVIVE HERE.

My goal with this recording is to use this DVD to promote and reintroduce vocal jazz, and the interwoven relationship between jazz and other popular music (R&B, straight 70's pop, blues, funk, latin Soul and neo-Soul), to younger and more diverse audiences, in addition to creating a usable DVD for marketing, promotion and distribution. Jazz performance venues are fast disappearing in the US; new artists' music is virtually inaccessible to the average AM/FM radio listener; there is no airplay on mainstream radio or video networks. Worse, there are only a select few jazz musicians in the United States that have major name recognition; of thse, very few are known in younger age groups; and opportunites to attend live performance is pricey.
