Though we were not able to raise the funds to build an enclosure, we did what any entrepreneurs worth their salt are supposed to do---We figured out how to build one anyway with less money! You can see the new design at:

We have some new ideas for new KickStarter projects; stay tuned....

Is this totally 'dead'???

If you need help with manufacturing, perhaps you should investigate the suitability of a Makerbot additive cnc (fused deposition modeling). Here is their wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Makerbot
With what you are aiming to accomplish in terms of case design, I imagine an ABS case would be more than feasible. Be sure to check out the latest release of their printer technology dubbed the "Thing-O-Matic".
Good Luck!

OOH I just noticed you are from Ann Arbor...ever go to the All Hands Active stuff, thursday nights at Digital Ops? They'd probably be interested in this too!

You should submit this to alt.engadget.com and maybe they'll blog about it. It does kind of have an "ick" factor so I'm not sure if it has mainstream appeal, although it is an interesting experiment. If you don't get the funding through here, I'd advise you to post about this on HeadWize (http://gilmore2.chem.northwestern.edu/ ) and diyAudio; people there can help you get the circuit boards screened commercially and help with enclosures (Hammond is usually nice) and small-batch production...so even if you can't make them commercially, you can still have your project live on in the DIY world. An example you can follow would be the awesome GrubDAC, which I built: http://www.diyforums.org/GrubDAC/
