Several months ago my girlfriend and I were on a beach vacation. Like most people, we picked out the perfect plot of sand and made our claim!! We laid our beach towels in the sand, raised the umbrella, and for the next 7 days enjoyed total relaxation, well almost. Our only problem.....it wasn't very comfortable piling clothes under my head to create a pillow!! As I looked around the beach I noticed many other people using similar techniques and knew there must be a better way to lounge in the sand and be comfortable while doing it. Then it hit me...

After our return to reality, we developed a prototype for the ultimate luxury beach towel and BEACH BUM towel was born!

Beach Bum Towel 

Our patent pending product is the ultimate in luxury beach towels. It is the only towel you will need for a day of fun in the sun. This towel is made of very HIGH QUALITY, 100% cotton terry/velour providing for an extremely soft laying surface. The towel measures 36 inches wide and 78 inches long and is equipped with features only found on a Beach Bum towel (see below)!!

(Velour has a soft velvet like feel and is the side with the logo. Terry is the side that is folded over and is looped cotton like a bath towel.)

Waterproof Pouch

Our over-sized beach towel is equipped with a 18'' X 36'' WATERPROOF POUCH lined with high quality waterproof polyester material. The waterproof pouch can be used to store electronics, magazines, clothing, or any item the user wants to keep safe from water, sun or any prying eyes. The pouch is closed by a 24'' zipper.

Inflatable Pillow

The towel comes with an INFLATABLE PILLOW  that measures 20'' X 12'' X 6''  when fully inflated. The pillow is flocked and has a velvet like feel. The pillow is designed to fit perfectly into the waterproof pouch with plenty of room in the pouch for storage and the pillow. 

Beach Chair Ties

BEACH BUM towel comes equipped with BEACH CHAIR TIES as well. The ties consist of two 12”  braided polyester straps sewn securly into the top of each side of the towel. This allows the towel to be tied to a lounge chair preventing the towel from falling off of the back of the chair when the user sits forward or stands. The ropes can also be tied around the rolled towel for easy handling and carrying of the towel and its stored items. This also allows compact storage. 

Styles and Colors

We currently offer "Cabana Style" towels, meaning they are striped with white and either blue, red, green, or yellow (see pictures). Each stripe is 4'' wide. There are 5 colored stripes and 4 white stripes on each towel.

Multiple Uses

The BEACH BUM appeals to a wide audience, both young and old. It is popular amongst beach goers as a more comfortable and luxurious alternative to the ordinary beach towel. Women have found it more relaxing while tanning in a park, college campus or back yard. The comfortable pillow assists in supporting the head and neck to effortlessly read books and magazines while lounging at the pool. It has been sold to boaters who wish lay out in style on the bow of the boat. Families have used it not only at the beach, but also to allow their kids a comfortable napping spot while on a family outing or picnic in the mountains/park. Grandparents have kept them for themselves or purchased as presents for their loved ones. And the list goes on.....

Test Run

After the prototype was produced and we were happy with the features and quality, we produced a small sample run of the deep sea blue towel which were sold at local flea markets, craft shows and college campuses! The response was OUTSTANDING!!! We sold out in a matter of hours!  We have undoutedly developed a great product people are going to love, but need financial support to keep our dream moving forward.

Future Plans

With your much appreciated and generous support we can continue to grow our product into a nationally recognized brand. The money we raise will go toward website development and marketing both on the internet and directly to beach supply shops, surf board stores, general retailers and additional speciality locations. Additionally, we plan to offer our product in multiple designs and colors. It costs $337 to make a template for each design. A portion of the money will be used to purchase new templates for new designs. We are currently in negotiations with manufacturing companies who can mass produce our product adhering to our high quality specifications. We have narrowed down our search to 3 companies and each is in the process of producing sample product for our verification. Finally, if you a love the beach or simply find our product cool, please help us keep the vision alive.
