FANCY COLORS is a new group with Zac and Dave supporting Sondre Lerche on tour this Fall and we're trying to finish our first album.
First of all, thanks for stopping by our Kickstarter page!
Most of you might remember us from the band "Jupiter One" where Zac was a song-writer playing keyboards and guitar while I played the drums. Although that band has taken a break, Zac never stopped writing songs so we formed a new project called "FANCY COLORS" where he'd actually be SINGING the songs he writes. (novel idea)
For the last 2 years, we moved back and forth between my apartment in Jersey City and Zac's place in Brooklyn recording demos for this new project on an 80's TASCAM machine. After some friends heard these lo-fi mixes, they volunteered to help contribute their talents and shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine this diamond, so we've been working hard all year to record these songs where ever and whenever we can. There's been help from many friends along the way including LOADS of time donated by Gardentone Studios to help make this record. The wonderful musician/songwriter, Sondre Lerche, was moved by the first drafts of our album and asked us to be his opening band on his upcoming U.S. Tour this Fall. We're real excited for the opportunity, but the tour starts in September so we really need to get a move on this album...
The good news is we're just about finished!!!
However, after recording the music there's still mixing, mastering, and production costs to make CDs and Vinyl...and THIS is where we're stuck.
If you can help us bring this collection of songs into the world, we'll be grateful beyond words.
