Thanks Mike. Good question. The budget is for ad buys in Lansing. Metro Detroit, Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids, mostly Comcast and some Wow. We may shift some to zones where we need legislative support. That is evolving as a coalition of folks are having discussions with legislators. But telling our stories is the most important part. It's not Hollywood who will be hurt, they will go elsewhere. It is the people of Michigan who will have to leave that is the story we need to tell.
I'm not totally understanding what the budget breakdown here is for the amount of money that you're asking for. Do you have some costs as to what it will take to run a 30-second ad in major markets? How long would the ads run? Is this through Comcast or WOW that this would be going through?
Nancy, you need to get Thom Hartmann to give you an interview on this cause. Michigan issues are dear to him, he grew up there. He interviews Virg Bernero regularly and he's been covering all the B.S. happening in Michigan now. His call out for listeners to toss a buck to a cause is always effective. I will send him an email, but seems to me if you contact a fellow progressive radio personality with a request, you'd be in.

It is sad to see this fund drive take off like a herd of turtles......really everyone, come on....do you want the film industry to stay? I figured I'd give $0.50 for every $1,000 I have grossed due to the film incentives, so I did it. I retired last June and have been in 6 projects, with a 7th starting next month. The last three are speaking roles. I have had excellent feedback on my performances. Who would have guessed I could start a new, exciting life/career at 63? Without the film incentives none of this would have been possible. By the way, I travel an average of 5 hours from Alpena to appear in these films...so I am serious about this work. I also have spent a fair amount of money in food, gas and lodging...do you hear that, Governor?
This industry got me through the lean parts of the summer when my main job slows down. I'm sure the film industry has helped many like me who just need a few weeks to a few months of work in Michigan. We don't show up in the statistics.
