I also try mails but no answer.

Two weeks on and still no word. I've sent emails via Kickstarter and via Amazon and no word back. this really is a terrible project and a horrible way to treat people who have given you money to fund your business. Considering you made 10x the amount you originally asked for.
Creator Andy Molloy on May 4
And still no word, this isn't good enough sorry. I backed you, how about you now back us?

Just got my 17 inch Antigua Leather Messenger Bag in Australia. First impression is not good - there were no shoulder strap included, leather is very stiff and the main buckle straps are not stitched into the leather. With no shoulder leather strap, the whole bag is useless and because of this, the two cuts in the bottom means small items will fallout.
Creator Boscoboy2002 on February 23
Got my back today and I must say that I'm very disappointed with: the buckles, the leather (more specifically: how the leather was cut. It was cut very unevenly in some places and overall looks a bit careless/sloppy), the staining is spotty, and the shoulder strap (it's untreated on the underside and leaves marks on your clothing).
Overall, it took waaaaaaaaay longer than they said and the resulting product was pretty crummy for what I paid. I'm glad someone got fired on their staff because this entire project was poorly executed in every stage. I wish I could get my money back and will reconsider buying anything this expensive from Kickstarter again.

I haven't even gotten notification of shipping.

Just received mine (17 inch bag). As others have commented, it is extremely stiff (no worries there, as I assume treatment and use will soften the leather), the underside of the leather straps is not tanned (I don't mind that as much as some others, but I do agree that tanning both sides would be better), and, as advertised, it is definitely "rustic." The holes in the straps are not exaclty uniform, the finish of the leather is blotchy in some places, the leather is cut somewhat unevenly... and I'm not sure what they did for the slot for the strap for the front pocket (basically looks like someone shoved a knife through the leather to create the slot). Despite these issues, I do like the look of the bag (and I do not mind the look of the buckles), and I expect that it will look better over time.
As far as utility, if it is really meant to be a leather bag aimed at holding tech products, I think it definitely needs some inside improvements. As it is now, the interior of the bag is an empty space... dividers for tech products would be great, something on the inside to hold pens, pencils etc. The front pouch would be more useful if it could hold an iPad (it's too small for that purpose). The side pouches... not sure what I will put in there... potentially useful for holding charging cables.
All in all, a decent looking rustic bag, that could use some improvements re: utility.

My bag arrived on Thursday. Overall, it looks good. Construction looks solid, save for the top carry handle, as others have mentioned. The bag has a rustic look and feel to it, perfect if you want a bag that is not too formal but not made of cloth material. As others have said, the leather is very stiff. I look forward to breaking it in and seeing how the leather patinas and softens. I see this bag as a good option for traveling. It is smaller than my primary bag (SBL Classic Brief, large), but it will be very useful when traveling and space is a concern. For that reason, I see this being a great secondary or run around bag (for me). I was a little critical on here but in the hope that the Antigua folks learn as much as they can. What do we learn when things go smoothly? They certainly learned a lot and hopefully are stronger for that. I think their product is solid, especially at the price point. I wish the gentlemen the best and hope they are able to establish themselves in the market place. In my opinion, they style of the bag is what differentiates them. I will be sure to post back in a month or so once my bag has some use (abuse) on it. Again, best wishes to the Antigua folks. I would love to see them use this experience to grow a successful brand.
Creator Kyle K. on February 9
Any others in Europe/NonUS still bagless?
Creator Matt Baker on February 7
Another Pro: I appreciate the fact that the bag can stand up on its own so I don't need to lean it against anything.
Creator Matt Baker on February 7
Just got my 17" bag yesterday after a change in size (from 15" to 17") and two address changes, and it is true to form. I don't mind the buckles as much as some and it is definitely a solid bag. The way these are shipped could use some updating as the front buckle threads (I don't know the proper term) had stabbed through the plastic. Other than that it was fine (shipped this past weekend and got here yesterday).
Contents:
Interior:
* 17" MacBook Pro
* Power supply
* Moleskine notebook
Front Pouch:
* Nexus 7
Side Pouch 1:
* Nexus 7 charger
Pros:
* Build quality is great
* Color is great
* TONS of space (also see possible con regarding this below)
Cons:
* Maybe not really a con. The bag is STIIIFFFFF, but that just means it'll break in to my needs. Maybe I'll try Leather Honey to see what it does.
* There is a ton of space in the bag depth-wise after I put the laptop in there, but no divider to keep things from bumping into/scratching each other up. I can probably buy a padded divider to just drop in there, but you guys might want to consider adding one in a future revision.
* Front buckles don't really make for quick access since they're fully functioning (not faux clip buckles), but it also adds to the bag's character.
Other than that it was worth the wait. Hopefully you guys have learned a lot and have built out your supply chain so you can start cranking them out!
Thanks!

If people are tired of waiting for their bag, I'm looking to sell my 15" light brown bag if anyone's interested. $149+ shipping. I've had it for about 2 months now and I've probably carried it about 4 times. Applied 3 coats of Leather Honey to it as some others have suggested. Photos below.

I received my bag nearly a month ago and have since toted it around like a trophy. I have heard nothing but good things about it! Great product! Way to tough out the obstacles and deliver a quality product to your backers!
Creator Daniel Galve on January 24
Just wanted to say that since I received my bag, I have gotten nothing but compliments! People can't help but be impressed with the quality of materials used and the craftsmanship. When people stop me, they are always surprised when they find out how much I paid for it: they always think the bag is worth between $400-600. Despite the setbacks in production, I think this is an all-around great product. Do you guys know when your website will be up? I know plenty of people who are aching to get their hands on Antigua Leather bags.
Great job guys!
Creator Evan Grainger on January 23
The lack of communication is what's most disappointing here. At this point, the finished product is going to need to be pretty damn fantastic for me to ever consider recommending a future purchase. It's really unfortunate, because I have a feeling this feedback is going to be even more detrimental to a start-up; we may never see what they're second attempt looks like.
Creator Brad Dancer on January 22
Interesting up and down reviews - wouldn't know, haven't seen my bag (sorry for sarcasm, but would love to see it!)
Creator Michael H on January 19
Tim, how are the buckles attached? Are they riveted to the strap> Snapped or screwed on like replaceable belt buckles? Depending on how they are attached you can replace them. Also, any updates on the latest batch?
Creator Tim Glenn on January 18
So the 13" bag sits next to my desk, unused. The shoulder strap is way too long and would need new holes added to so it doesn't hag so low. The buckles. THE BUCKLES. The buckles would look better on a belt that I wouldn't buy. Plus, their size make it very difficult to close. Put it in the hole, try to slide through the leather loop, it comes out of the hole in the strap. They don't work well on a bag. Really don't like the buckles.
The quality is what you'd expect for this price and experience. If they're making these for a few more years, I'm sure they will be very different. I'd like to replace the buckles with the rollers on the original design and add hole to the shoulder strap, and start rubbing in conditioner to soften the leather. But, I don't know how they will handle customer complaints. It's not a bad bag overall and it's part of the Kickstarter experience. But the buckle change should have been sent to the backers for feedback before moving forward. We are backers and invested in this product. Customer service is also a part of doing business and is appreciated.

any shipping updates? i figured i'd just make due without the bag while it was shipping, but it's getting kind of silly now. i bought the bag for a reason, and now i'm at the point where i feel like i need to buy something else to fill that role as i've been "making due" for five months now.

Got mine in Sweden today and had to pay a handling fee for it. Nevermind. Overall i think it looks good, rustic. The quality could have been a little bit more polished but i suppose i will grow to like the rough look it has. not entirely satisfied with the bag, but nonetheless, a good effort from Antigua Leather
Creator aaron Churchill on January 3
it's been a couple of weeks since the 21st. any new updates?
Creator Rob purdy on December 31
well mine finally arrived and have to say I'm disappointed with the quality of it - I was expecting something a little rough around the edges but this is pretty bad - very rough edges, not at all even - don't think under any use this will last long at all - equally not keen on the different buckles
The leather is incredibly stiff - closer to cardboard than leather - will have to do some serious softening up to feel anything like reasonable quality
also doesn't actually fit the 12" laptop I ordered it for which makes it doubly disappointing - especially after the 5 month wait to get this shipped....
my only question is do I chuck it in the back of a cupboard or do I sell it on ebay
Kickstarter will always be a risk I guess but not a great all round experience from my perspective
Creator zen random on December 24
This is a very nice bag, though currently very stiff :) I would suggest that in further production you consider both stitching and rivets for the handles. I do not anticipate that if you utilize the handle a great deal that stitching only will be secure enough. Take a lesson from the folks who made mail bags, if it carries weight, stitch it and rivet it.
Creator Antigua Leather on December 21
Hi all,
We are getting closer to our final shipment with each day that passes, and we are excited to finally be getting everyone that backed our project their bag! If you have not yet received a shipping confirmation, your bag will likely be in our next shipment. However, we cannot guarantee that we will complete our fulfillment to our backers with the next shipment until every bag passes our quality inspection. We are committed to quality and backer satisfaction!
For those that have not yet received their bag, look out for a shipping notice to come soon! If everything continues to move as scheduled, you will likely receive your notice within a couple of weeks.
Thank you all for your patience and support! It has been a pleasure to be of service!

I've been using my 15" dark brown bag for about a week now and am very pleased with it.
Storage-wise, it's exactly the size I needed. Between the main compartment and the 3 other pouches, the bag holds my 15" Lenovo Thinkpad, Nexus 7 tablet, 1" binder, power cords, wireless mouse, pens/pencils, earbuds pouch, lotion tin, and a giant Snickers bar. I can even fit my travel size umbrella across the top if I loosen the flap straps a notch.
At first, I was a bit unsure about the look of the untanned underside of the straps, but I came to see that the contrast is very nice. (To those of you who feel it is too stark a contrast, consider that the untanned side will darken over time.) I really dig the "rougher" look of the bag. I suggest, however, that the attachment of the top carry handle be reinforced perhaps with a rivet in addition to the stitching. Also, regarding the carry handle, the leather edges are a bit hard, which dig into my hand uncomfortably. That may ease up as the leather softens, so we'll see. Perhaps if the handle were given a top layer wrap, it would alleviate this.
I've given the bag a thorough once-over with Leather Honey, which loosened it up a bit. I'll probably hit it again this weekend. Once it's nice and broken-in, I think it'll be a real pleasure to carry every day. I've gotten lots of complements and I'm pretty sure one guy in my office is now stalking the AL website waiting for the store to officially open. Incidentally, if anyone is looking to sell theirs, let me know; I may have a buyer for you.
Thanks for the bag, AL- it's great! Best of luck to you in your new venture.
