Oh I'm aware of the book I made sure to mention it in my original message. My concern was that the use of the exact phrase "the girl who leapt though time" coupled with the concept of a girl who time travels would be enough to cause you trouble.
You might think it rather innocuous, but I've seen far more ridiculous things go to court.
There was a lawsuit in my neck of the woods where a local eatery sued another for stealing their idea of "attractive women serving food." I kid you not, they won that case with ease.
Another possible issue is the phrase "the girl who leapt though time" could be copyrighted.
After all "I'm loving it" is copyrighted. In any case, good luck to you.

@William Goff: Thanks for your comment buddy. I have read the novel. And To be honest got the idea to make a Chronotron based game with a female lead after reading the novel. I didn't know about the movie with the same name. I'll modify the game title to "Natsuyo" just to make sure I don't violate the copyright. The puzzles are inspired by Chronotron but are not related to that movie or novel in any way. Also the story is in no way related to that novel. It's a game about a girl who solves time-distortion puzzles to help her best friend. Hopefully, copyrights cannot cover a simple idea like a girl traveling back in time.
Here is the plot of the novel: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toki_o_Kakeru_Sh%C5%8Djo#Plot
Thanks again for the input. I'll make sure I modify the game title.

So uh, here's the skinny. There is already a book, a movie and a manga that use the title "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time." These are all remakes of the same story by Yasutaka Tsutsui in which the main protagonist uses her ability to time travel in order to solve her problems.

Now assuming this was an innocent mistake I would think it would be in your best interest to modify your game title to something that would run less risk of infringing on copyright. I'm afraid that simply putting a prefix in front of an existing title is not enough.
