Hello to everyone,
And so sorry I haven't given y'all an update on my beautiful wonderful exhibition still to come... The exhibition opening was supposed to be near the end of October (Halloweenish, perhaps appropriate for my show), but the gallery owner and I had one pretty big unknown factor that could have dampened the show.
The building where the gallery is was scheduled for a facelift, and the gallery owner and I were worried that the scaffolding would covering up the five giant, beautiful windows which are one of the best parts of this gallery. And no one could tell us when the scaffolding was to go up, nor how long would it be standing. So we decided to wait and see.
Well, she called last week to say that the scaffolding had gone up, and would I like to come take a look? (I will add photos to this so you can see too). Yesterday we met and looked at the changes. So far, the scaffolding is not as bad as expected (it doesn't really cover the windows) but it does cut down on the natural light in the gallery. She suggested that we could wait until late winter or spring for the opening, just to be sure that the construction around the gallery would be gone. I haven't decided yet (I'd really like to get the cool show up) but I suppose in a week or so I will have to make a decision.
What do you think? Any ideas?
I'll attempt to include one photo of the outside of the gallery (with scaffolding) and one of the inside, darkened by the construction.
