Travel costs for book tour outside of Colorado and studio time/professional help to create audio book.
Heart Warriors, A Family Faces Congenital Heart Disease is my first book. While it is traditionally published through a small independent press, I retained the audio rights in my contract.
I want to expand my book tour beyond Colorado and to record the book for sale, but I lack the technology to make a decent recording. I especially want to market the book to medical and nursing students and young doctors and nurses who will benefit from the patient and care-giver experiences in the book and may have more time to listen than to read.
I truly believe that by sharing our experience with our child's 12 heart surgeries and time at three hospitals, we can create a bridge to better family experiences across the nation and beyond.
Funds will be used for travel to readings in seven major cities and to either rent studio space or purchase the input device and software, microphone, headphones, and accessories to make the best possible recording depending on which option can be funded with amount raised.
