About this project
We have a home control system in progress that allows you to control your home via iPhones, Touchscreens, Internet, etc. However, it's a closed system. We are interested in dedicating the time to open the software as open source and creating an open community.
We would like to open source our software first and if successful look into building open source hardware to control the home for a complete Open Home Automation Solution. This would allow you to control lighting, audio video, security systems, etc. from your couch, office or across the globe. This first step would be to open source the following:
Xabler Server Software - Control Backbone
Xabler Touchscreen Software - Flash graphic user interfaces.
Xabler APIs - Others can integrate and create plug ins.
Xabler Parsers/Modules - Control specific brands of lighting, AV, etc.
Xabler iPhone interface - GUI for controlling the home.
This would be a great project to get out and open and we'd love to develop a more open community.
