Recreational sports leagues have always been apart of American culture.  These days, adults young and old flock to these leagues for socializing and exercise that doesn’t involved being stuck in a gym.   My two producers: Jared Ferrie and Jason Veley of New Leaf Pictures, two of the stars: Alastair Ferrie and Andrew Tyree and I have played together on a coed flag football team for five consecutive seasons and have had a blast!  The fun, the friendship, and the un-PC hilarity that ensued inspired us to produce this pilot.  

The show is about a group of teammates who each need their team for very specific personal reasons: to relive past athletic glory, to bond with their parents who always wanted them to play sports, to meet dates, to make new friends since they’re new to the city, and to feel a sense of family.   We follow their misguided misadventures as they do whatever it takes to keep their team, The Recess Rejects, together and fighting toward the league championship.

We wrote and developed the script over the last several months, and have almost finished production.  The reason we’ve chosen to shoot the pilot presentation is that it allows the cable networks that specialize in this type of comedy (our potential buyers) to get a feel for the humor, the camaraderie and the look of the show.  If they have a product they can see, they are more apt to buy it rather than just reading a script that they may have a hard time visualizing.  Once the project is complete, we will be shopping it to several cable networks where we and our representatives have personal relationships.   Our goal for this project is to have a cable network buy the pilot, order it to series and have it air for at least ten seasons.   But before that happens, we need you!

We’re raising money to cover the basic costs associated with production.  Expenses such as craft services, props, post production, and assembling distribution materials tend to add up pretty quickly and we want to make sure everything is spot-on, making our project as salable and professional as possible.
