The Apocalypse is an episodic collection of dance, video and sculpture coming to The TANK in New York City May 2010.

The Apocalypse is an episodic collection of art pieces structured around the idea of a secular apocalypse. Blurring the lines between installation, theater and an over-stimulated supermarket, The Apocalypse takes the viewer on a bizarre journey of mistakes and second chances. Conceived by Laurie Berg, Megan Byrne, and Liliana Dirks-Goodman, and produced by Megan Byrne, the dance, video, and sculpture of The Apocalypse reflects a societal life cycle of inflation to collapse. Episodes stand on their own, each differing in aesthetic and approach. Yet when shown together, an overall arc is revealed. Three out of the five episodes will be shown at the TANK in May 2010 including "The Apocalypse Mall", "Joan and Judy Get Taken for a Walk" and "The Sorrow of Utopia".

We've already raised the funds to cover our rehearsal studio and most of our materials. Now we are asking for your support to help pay the artists. Working with us for our performance at the TANK are eight fantastic dancers, two video artists and a composer. Funds raised on Kickstarter will also go towards a professional stage manager, a key component to a smooth performance. It is so important to us that we pay our artists for their incredible talents and dedication to The Apocalypse. Your donation today makes this possible.

The Apocalypse began in May 2009 and episodes have been shown at Movement Research at the Judson Church and Open Performance, The Hudson Guild Theater, AUNTS Roadshow, The Salon at Ulla's House and Secret Restaurant. Now we are excited to show three episodes together at the TANK. In June The Apocalypse is going to Stony Brook College as part of the International Computer Music Conference dance concert, and to Pieter PSAD in Los Angeles January 2011 where a new episode will be created. Our goal is to have episodes I - V shown together within the next two years.
