Title: " The Sweatshop" - Short film 

(an NYU Tisch graduate student film collaboration with the Tisch production design program.)

Synopsis

The story follows two children who struggle with their imprisonment in an illegal sweatshop, and search for their chance to escape. Ahong confines all these kids in the basement. When Lee finally discovers a chance to get away, he will make a decision that could change both of their futures forever. (The film will be in Chinese Language)

Additional Information

Director: Chin Tangsakulsathaporn is a native Bangkoker from Thailand. After he got a bachelor's degree in the Performing Arts. He started his film career as an actor and also work as a cable guy on set until he became a Commercial film director. He sold his awards to buy a one-way ticket to New York in 2006. Now he is awarded a full scholarship from the graduate film at Tisch, New York University and a scholarship from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).  See his previous work For Computer OR For Iphone / Mobile 

Cinematographer: Brian Lannin is a director and cinematographer based in New York City.  His short film, AND WINTER SLOW won the best shortfilm at the Cinequest Film Festival in March, 2012.  Brian's works as cinematographer has shown at numerous prestigious festivals;  BAYOU BLACK (dir. Jonas Carpignano, starring Michael K. Williams), received mention at the Woodstock Film Festival and ANGELS (dir. Zach Kerschberg), received the Cinematography Award at the Montana Internationl Film Festival.  He is currently an MFA Candidate at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.

Producer: Alexandra Keyes was born in London and grew up moving back and forth between Hong Kong and LA.  She returned to the UK for her undergraduate degree in Chinese Studies at Oxford, where she also discovered her passion for producing with the Oxford Revue, starting point for such comedians as Rowan Atkinson and Michael Palin.  After graduating, Alex moved to Japan, where she produced a government-sponsored education show, Let’s Go EIGO!.  She is currently enrolled in her first year in NYU’s MBA/MFA (Stern/Tisch) producing programme.

Casting Director & Associate Producer: Shelley Cheung is a Creative Writing major from Stanford University with a range of roles in producing short films including casting, writing, and editing.

Editor & Associate Producer: Ducminh Nguyen is a video artist with a degree in Digital Media Design from University of Pennsylvania. He has edited a variety of short films by Chin Tangsakulsathaporn. He also created the kickstarter video you just watched.

NYU's Graduate Film Producing Award winning films that are screened in festivals worldwide. Among the graduates are such directors as Martic Scorsese, Joel Coen, Spike Lee, Alex Rockwell and others that have contributed to American independent cinema.
