Update #3: You did it!

Posted on September 23, 2010

YES! Thanks to a flurry of activity the past couple of days, lots of support garnered after the events in NJ and Brooklyn, and some very generous friends and family, this project HAS MET ITS GOAL with just 30-some hours to spare! I'll make a final plea in the morning, as every extra dollar will help me make one more stop to meet one more inspiring entrepreneur, but please know how grateful I am for all of your support.

I've been in a funny place, not knowing just how much to plan or not plan for this trip, but now that I know it's happening I can start to put the wheels in motion. Literally. The bags and truck are getting packed up in the morning -- where we land on night one is still up in the air, but an adventure definitely awaits.

The working plan puts me in Pittsburgh, Ann Arbor, Chicago, Des Moines, Denver, Salt Lake City, Portland, San Francisco, and San Diego over the next short while. I'll certainly be keeping you posted!

Much love and thanks to my many generous supporters --
Scott

Make that "just 18-some hours to spare"! Jeesh, you people were making me sweat this one out. Grin. The love remains.

That's thirty four votes to "becoming known as a fresh new voice in our community", keep on with your dream, your destiny is as unlimited as your imagination.

Update #2: Preparations underway, but first a couple of events!

Posted on September 13, 2010

I'm in Plymouth, MA now, writing and gearing up for the eminent trip west (with hopefully a quick stop up north first!). Before then, I'll be hosting a panel of/about successful independent entrepreneurs in Brooklyn, NY, and speaking at the New Atlantic Independent Bookseller's Association conference in Atlantic City, NJ. A very busy month ahead, Kevin (my trusty spaniel) can't wait. Thanks for your help, I really can't do this without you!

Update #1: Progress!

Posted on September 8, 2010

Tremendous thanks to the generous dozen backers so far, with your help we're well past the 25% mark! With just 16 days to go, please help me pass the halfway mark by the end of this week by sharing with your social networks, and forwarding the link to family members who might not be on Facebook or Twitter.

I'm feeling good about it and already reaching out to folks I can visit along the way to California!

Bestly,
Scott
