What is Peculiar?

It’s a sitcom about a college kid. He used to be a star quarterback, but a car wreck ended his college football career before it began. He is attending a local community college and trying to figure out how his new faith in Jesus Christ impacts his life.

Why are you trying to create Peculiar?

There are lots of people who watch TV that have no idea what it really means to live with a biblical worldview. They only know what media tells them about Christianity. We can show what it means to really try to live what you believe. Even if that seems “Peculiar” to many people. 

What network will Peculiar be on?

Peculiar will be distributed through the internet. Television is in the middle of the largest shift in content delivery since the invention of cable. Peculiar is embracing that, and using the ability to make this sort of content available to a potential audience of millions of people who already watch video online.

In addition, the show will be broadcast on a network that reaches 46 million homes in North America, the US Virgin Islands and India!

We've already shot the pilot. (You can see it here.) But a series isn't a series if there is just one episode. I need your help to make more, and make them better.

I know what you're thinking. How can I shoot an entire season of episodes for $2500?

We made the pilot with a 100% volunteer cast and crew. We have access to some great equipment. It's not easy, but it is possible to do a series for very little money. The more funding we have the better shows we can produce. I will use part of the money you donate to attract sponsors and the rest will go toward production of 5 more episodes this year. $2500 is the bare minimum needed to do the show. The more money we raise, the better the shows will be.
