DESCRIPTION
Project OGUR is the first of five (unrelated) games that I have wanted to make for as long as I can remember. This game in particular takes the complexity and depth of roguelike games (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roguelike) and updates them for modern platforms (such as the Xbox 360). Primarily, OGUR will allow a local multiplayer gaming experience along with some fresh ideas for the roguelike genre.
The game play itself nearly completed from an architectural standpoint. A Wedoist was created on day one, and there are only two major features left on that tracker to complete. Once those items are finished its a matter of extending the core functionality of the game to create new and interesting ways of playing.
After that challenge is completed, I will need to do a total asthetic overhaul. Predominantly, this involves drawing custom sprites for everything in the game. Secondarily, this will mean writing, performing, and recording some original music.
How the money will be spent is explained in the FAQs, but most of it will go towards me working on OGUR as my part-time job while school is in session. Anything raised over the funding goal will go towards my next game, which will be revealed after OGUR is complete.
FAQ
-
The money will be spent in three major areas
1) Software to speed up development time (ReSharper, GraphicsGale, etc)
2) Hardware to make the end-game more polished (Microphone for recording original music)
3) Bare essentials that my body requires to stay alive while I develop -
Every penny earned in excess of the stated goal will be put towards my next project, the second of the five games I've always wanted to make. This would mean I could spend less time marketing these projects and more time developing them! :)

No. Awesome multiplayer is the motivation behind OGUR, but I highly value a good single player experience that is at least on par with multiplayer.

Game development is my true passion. There's no greater joy for me than building a game that excites and challenges people to new limits. If computer's didn't exist? In that case I might have been a professional chef, or a busker in the streets of London. Both would be equally good alternatives.
