THE WHO.
Hello, Kickstarters!
My name is Benjamin Swan and I am a filmmaker and commercial director living in the Mid-West. Our project, Somewhere in the Night, is a short film that we have already cast with some wonderful actors and our extremely talented crew is lead by director of photography, Joe Hubers, who is an award-winning filmmaker in his own right. The film is being produced by myself,along with my beautiful wife and business partner, Sarah Swan. Sarah is a lifestyle photographer who will be taking BTS photos and video for all of you as we go. This is an incredible opportunity for myself, this wonderful cast and talented crew, which is why we humbly need your financial support to make it happen.
THE WHY.
We would love nothing more than to make a beautiful film with high production values that will be seen in film festivals all over the world. We determined that it will cost around $7,500 to make Somewhere in the Night. This will be straight production cost including the paying of cast and crew, props, wardrobe and certain production equipment. If we exceed our goal, the additional funds will go towards visual 3D effects, sound mixing, music composition and distribution.
THE WHAT.
Somewhere in the Night follows Ira, a black listed screenwriter in late 1940s Brooklyn. While Ira is holed up in his small apartment, struggling to finish his latest film, he witnesses a gruesome murder. When the police refuse to do anything, Ira’s inept manager, Gordon, and his burlesque-dancing next door neighbor, Cassandra, (thinking it would be a good way for Ira to find material to finish his film his film) devise a plan to go and track down the killer themselves.
Think Woody Allen's Shadows and Fog meets Hitchcock's Rear Window.
THE WHEN.
With a talented cast and crew waiting in the wings, we are eager to move forward with the production with in a month of the conclusion of funding.
