A short work of choreography dealing with restriction, denied impulse, and the attempt to break restraint.
I am currently in my third year at Hampshire College studying dance and choreography. For the past three months I have been working on two original choreographic works for the Hampshire Winter Dance Concert. One is a trio which examines and celebrates the differences in the physical capabilities and languages of individual bodies even within the highly structured, choreographed, and technical realm of staged and performed dance. The other piece is a quartet dealing with physical restraint, denied physical impulse, the anxiety that accompanies physical restraint, and the desire for articulation within confinement.
The video above is a collection of footage taken over the past three months during rehearsals.
Thanks!
