Wait so WHAT IS THE LOOP?!
For those of you who've never seen me live, I use a technique called "looping" to live record/loop/layer all of my instruments on the spot. With your help, I can create a new album where I will incorporate much of the live looping everyone is used to my from my live shows with proper studio treatment and no limitations! So as many of you know I just moved to LA! Well, not quite just I guess. I moved last August 2010, but spent the majority of my 1st official LA year (8 months to be exact) on the road. So it feels like I JUST moved here.
Why I Need Funding
Ever since I got back from my Summer tour I've been writing a lot! As you can imagine it takes A LOT of money to make a GREAT record! The money will go towards the studio, engineer, producer, musicians, mixing, mastering, artwork, photography, replication, music video (maybe), and so much more that goes into putting a great record together. I'm excited to get your input along the way.
Weekly Streaming Sessions
I'm going to hold weekly streaming sessions where I'll play a few new songs that I'm working on and we'll have a talk back, Q&A session (via the chat box). I'll take your input and use it to make the album better. I'll also live stream from inside the studio (exclusive for backers) so you can see how it all works.
Do You Play Covers?
Typically no, but I will for you! I'm going to learn, record and post in the updates a cover song that you choose EVERY WEEK. Every Sunday I'll post in the updates section 5 cover songs to vote on and the winning song I'll make a video of in my style (most likely looped and hopefully with trumpet).

No problem! I won't force you to bowl with me! All rewards (other than the package that i'll send you) are optional. If you want to pledge $1000 with no rewards ok! If you want to pledge $3000 but don't want to go bowling but do want to come to the studio - great!
The rewards are the maximum of what you could get/we can do. I'll ask you at the end of the campaign (depending on your reward level) what you'd like and what interests you of all the rewards. If you want to do everything great! If you want to just get the pre-release package with all the goodies and don't care to do anything else - no problem!

Of course not! I'm going to hold them once a week for whomever is interested. If you'd like to be more involved and give me your thoughts on new songs and keep up with what I'm working on then you can tune in. It's free and will last about an hour. I'll post in the updates when these will happen.

Absolutely! You can raise your pledge amount at any time (and get the rewards that come with that amount). Make sure to select the new reward level that you'd like (this doesn't happen automatically).

Yes! You can pledge any amount you can think of, you can choose your reward by clicking that option on the next screen. You just need to pledge that amount or more to be able to select that reward. So you could pledge $100 and select any reward below that amount (probably want to grab the $75 reward), but it's up to you! If you want to pledge $500 but really don't like Bowling and are afraid of hanging out with me one on one feel free to select the Holiday option or any thing else below that amount.

Oh no! It's called "Help Build the Loop" because I thought it was catchy. No, if (when) i get into the studio I'll have studio musicians and a producer to put together a great BIG album with no limitations. There will be some looping songs, some chill piano songs, some acoustic, some full band and a mixture of everything!

18. EBAY ITEM: This is a one of a kind. I JUST discovered the CD of a recording of my first (yes VERY firs) coffee shop performance at the European Grind in Minneapolis, MN on November 8th, 2003 when I was 18 (forgot we even recorded this!). Other than the version of "Float on By" which is a part of the "Float Package" here on Kickstarter, no one else has any of these recordings (as they really shouldn't!). I just discovered the only existing CD. It contains all 15 songs from the concert, including the very first time I ever performed "Rose Stained Red" and "Proud Honeybee." There are also 5 songs that are so old I never recorded them and haven't performed them for about 6 years. Lucas Shogren (my roommate at the time) sat in on cello for a few songs. I will never release this so you and I will be the only owners of these recordings - until you put them on EBAY! This is a music only CD (very little banter). Plus rewards 1-8, 12-17.
