A feature length documentary exploring the waste produced around the world every day shown through the life cycle of an aluminum can.

Canned is a two part project:

The first part is a feature length documentary exploring the immense waste produced around the world every day. This isn't a story about global warming, greenhouse gasses or carbon footprints. And there won't be any politically motivated finger pointing or "gotcha" moments. In an age where most children have never heard the phrase "waste not, want not", true lasting change won't come from new laws or more ignored government mandate, nor should it. It can only come from each of us taking responsibility in our own lives, doing our part to help make a difference.

The Documentary will be illustrated through the life cycle of a simple aluminum soda can. Birth, life, death and potential rebirth (via recycling).

The second part is to collect 1 million aluminum cans to use as visual aids throughout the film and to help illustrate the waste explained above. Lowe's Home Improvement was kind enough to donate 15 collection bins which are being placed all around Central Ohio.

SO, WHAT'S THE MONEY FOR?

Traveling is the main expense. Anything raised beyond the goal of $20,000 will go towards equipment (cameras, audio), the crew, and post-production (editing, music, distribution). The Kickstarter goal is about half of the total budget, but will ensure that the film can be completed in a timely manner.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE GOAL ISN'T MET?

Kickstarter is all-or-nothing, so if we don't reach the goal, none of the money pledged will go towards the film. If the goal isn't met, traveling with equipment and crew will not be possible.
