Update #17: Who Is Gay Genius? #15
In the past few years, SILKY SHOEMAKER has been suffusing Austin with that powerful elixir of entertainment, activism, and historical recovery. Along with her noisy cohort of self-defined queers, the artist, performer, and activist has, in the brief time since she moved to Austin, co-produced Camp Camp, South by Southwest Festival-capping day party GaybiGayGay, and game night Trivia Travesty; she has appeared in PJ Raval's Three Dollar Cinema shorts and at the IDKE drag convention; created stage sets, costumes, art pieces, videos, musical pieces, and performances; and taken it all on the road with Matthews – presenting pieces in Mexico City and Copenhagen – and Fingers, which brought its queer performance revue to multiple U.S. cities in a school bus that usually worked.

Update #16: Who Is Gay Genius? # 14
Introducing the brilliant SARAH SASS BISCARRA-DILLEY.
SARA SASS BISCARRA-DILLEY is a multi-disciplinary artist, budding writer and voting member of the California Indian Basketweavers Association. She has exhibited her work, spoken on panels and taught workshops in San Francisco, New Orleans, Portland, Sacramento, Santa Fe and Durango, CO. She likes oak trees, dry heat, the color of dent corn in a bath of cal, 40's snakeskin heels, strong coffee, tight skirts and sharp tongues. A former high school dropout and avid de-schooler, she is currently pursuing her BFA in Studio Arts at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, NM.
As a queer mestiza, Sarah is constantly exploring the spaces between the worlds; between ancestral lines, between gender and gender roles, between past and present, between sacred space and living space, between personal authority and collective responsibility. She is calling the four elements from her place at the crossroads. She is using family recipes, Coyote’s tricks, and Spider’s wise words. She is committed to remembering what has stayed near and relearning what has slipped further away over time She is taking after Oak, whose roots are as wide as the expanse of her branches, as much a part of sky as of earth. She is determined to survive and to speak my truth. Through wit and wisdom, ancestral memory and oral history, needles and pens, feathers and beads, Sarah aspires to weave a path between these worlds so that the mystery of it might feel like home, if only for a moment.
For the Gay Genius anthology Sarah is contributing a beautiful tapestry of a story, a visual tale of Masahai Matkwisai, a Mohave holy person existing in the in-between world of Hwame, braving the spreading storm of colonization.
