Dear Founders -
Hello! We hope summer is treating you well. It's been a while since we reached out and it's time to share some news from the homefront... no, storefront! With construction underway, we'll have more photos and news to share throughout July. In the meantime, don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions about your rewards or if you want to come by and see the progress firsthand.
We couldn't be prouder of what we're working on. Thank you for being a founder!

Rewards
If you filled out our Kickstarter survey, you should be receiving your mailing soon!). If you haven’t filled it out, please do so- posters, bumper stickers, and other goodies await you!
Plans & Permits
We've been tracking the status of our building permit daily for the past month and a half. Yes, nearly 48 days since we submitted our plans to the city! The good news is that we're almost there! Thank you to everyone who voiced their support to D.C. government and sent us positive thoughts. Here's the latest report.
Construction
While waiting on our permit from the city, we've made incremental progress on getting the store prepped for heavy construction. Here are a few photos from demolition and floor re-finishing.
OUT WITH THE OLD FLOOR... (that was fun!)
POLISHING THE NEW FLOOR... (the hard part!)
Local Vendors & Suppliers
Lastly, we wanted to highlight a few local businesses we're partnering with to make the project happen.
Green Touch Builders - Sterling, VA -- Graham Morris and team are leading the construction project.
Old Barn Reclaimed Wood -- Richmond, VA -- Sam Sikes sourced reclaimed barn wood for the store. Here's a preview.
Van Jester Woodworks -- Richmond, VA -- Zachary Jester is creating tabletops and counters using reclaimed (and Kickstarter donated!) 120 year old heart pine joists from a Columbia Heights (DC) row house. We’ll keep you updated on the finished product!
