First-up I'd like to wish you all a happy new year — the last couple of months of 2012 seemed to race by and here we are.
You may have noticed that our best intentions of releasing THE NUMINOUS PLACE last year never quite materialized. We made great strides towards publication, but that's one of the things about trailblazing — sometimes the trail throws up challenges and surprises.
What I can tell you is that we've made great progress on a number of fronts, our discussions are continuing with potential publishers and investors and I'm confident we'll have some good news to share soon.
Thanks for your patience — as those of you who downloaded the prototype know, the wait will be worth it.

FRANKFURT & BEYOND

I suddenly had a flash-forward — me sitting here in 10 years sending out NEW UPDATE (#687) to everyone! Still bombarding you with information...
Still thanking you for making it all possible.
Let me tell you about the Frankfurt Book Fair now that the jet-lag has worn off, and we have some distance from the overwhelming experience of 300,000 people all gathered in one place to eat, drink, talk and buy books.
We presented the prototype to the world, and the response was more than we could have hoped for. Dean, Andy, Guy and the BRANDWIDTH team really did us proud with their tech and design. There's a cool interview with Dean here about what went into designing the app for THE NUMINOUS PLACE.
What I can tell you is that we're in discussions with investors and several major publishing houses following the fair — and, you'll be the first to know when there's something concrete to tell.
As you may have noticed, New Zealand had a strong presence at the Frankfurt Book Fair as Guest of Honor. One of those present from my home country of Aotearoa was Radio New Zealand announcer, and national treasure KIM HILL who interviewed me a couple of days ago on her Saturday morning show. You can hear that (rather long) interview here.
And, um, er, yes — as a former radio guy and journalist, I, um, ah, am still struggling with being the interviewee, rather than the, um, interviewer.
Ahem.
