Carin, I was having a horrible start to the work week... then I remembered I had some great sweaters on the way. I can't wait! I was so excited last week that I ruined the surprise and told everyone what I had ordered for them.
Creator Dana H. on September 21, 2012
Thank You Carin!!
Creator Carin Agiman on September 19, 2012
Hi Dana!
From the sizing specs (http://www.geltfiend.com/pages/sweater-sizing), it looks like the Men's Small is going to be 1.5 inches wider in the shoulders, but that might not be too big a deal. Otherwise, the cut is boxier, but I'm sure you could rock it (there's almost nothing that a belt can't fix!).
Creator Dana H. on September 19, 2012
CARIN! Hi, hate to be annoying but if I'm a short but busty female (duh, i'm jewish) who normally wears like a women's medium... do you think I could rock the small men's red cardigan? I really like the red better than the teal. Do the sizes compare? I'm willing to sacrifice cut if the men's sweater is cut more boxy and less cute.
Muchas Gracias

Wish they were wool (animal friendly wool or alpaca or something (I really dislike non-natural fibers).
That said, I'm still really excited and hope we can pull off the missing 2k in the next 34 hours!
Creator Carin Agiman on August 29, 2012
Thank you so much, Ed! I want nothing more than to see a whole bunch'a Jews in Chanukah sweaters this year, and I'm thrilled with the amount of support this project has gotten so far. Keeping my fingers crossed that we make it!
Creator Ed White on August 29, 2012
6 more days, I hope you make the goal! (mostly because I really want my 5 sweaters...but also because you did an amazing job with the design and style) Wish you the best!` ed
Creator Carin Agiman on August 24, 2012
Hi Asher!
Of course you can :).
Sweaters are acrylic for 3 reasons---
- It was important to me that the sweaters be animal-friendly, which eliminated wool. (I thought about cotton, but it just wouldn't have given the sweaters the same soft texture and holiday sweater warmth and fuzziness. Also, cotton tends to be less fade-resistant)
- When I was developing the designs, I looked at a lot of vintage 50's and 60's sweaters, and many of them were also acrylic (Seriously---not makin' it up)
- The comfort of the sweaters was important, and the feel of acrylic was much, much softer than any of the other fiber types, and would give the sweaters the right bulk.
Hope that answers your question! Feel free to ask anything.
Carin

Hi, I just saw that these are made from 95% Acrylic, 5% Spandex - can I ask why?
