Slaves to the Pavement is finally recording their first full-length release after talking about it for 2 years and making sad attempts
Slaves to the Pavement has been a band for 3 years now and has only ever released a 4-song demo, which was recorded a few months after they had saddled up. After going through a couple lineup changes and a lot of writing, we finally have a solid lineup and hit the studio with Chris Trestain over a year ago, where we recorded a few songs for an album. Then, money became a giant issue and things went stale. Well, we went back into the studio a few months ago and have finished up a good portion of record, but are still having trouble financing the project. With the holidays here at our doorsteps, money's even tighter, and this album just keeps getting pushed back and pushed back.
OUR GOAL: We've made a pledge of $600 to fund the rest of the recording with Chris, as well as the manufacturing and pressing of the album when it is finished. If the funding exceeds the amounts needed for these, the rest of the money will be used toward putting the album on vinyl.
This Kickstarter isn't a plea for laziness and looking for sympathy, we just don't have the greatest jobs and the best financial standpoint to responsibly afford this project in the timeframe we'd like to have this released. HOWEVER, we are excellent artists and have things to offer, in turn for help with something that means the world to us and something we've wanted to release for at least 2 years now. That's where we were turned onto Kickstarter. If you look, you'll see we've got some generous rewards to whoever can donate, no matter how much you donate.
