Pledge your support to Life in Glass today! Amazing personalized glass sculptural art at every level.

Belief, fate, desire, hope, courage... The list can go on and on as to how the infinite permutations of our dreams affect our lives.  I dream of glass.

I believe in what I do as an artist.

I know that it is my fate.

I burn with desire to unleash all these ideas in my head.

I hope that my friends and patrons see the beauty of glass in all its manifestations in my work and choose to support me.

That I have the courage to uphold my integrity, both artistic and personal,  by refusing to do anything less than what I choose to do with my art and my life.

Thank you for taking the time in your busy day and in your busy lives to look over my project.  If you've taken a look at the rewards you can see that the pledge of your support in my project can give you some amazing experiences or art.  I have tried to include something for everyone at every level.  Interested in something not listed, I would be happy to work something out for you.

100% of the money pledged will go towards building a new studio that will give access to glass in all its forms to the public.  There will be traditional glass blowing, lampworking, casting, and glass fusing available with rental time and lessons.

So, on to the rewards and the focus of this project.  Some time ago I ran in to a 'death mask' of Beethoven and was intrigued enough that I started researching the idea.  Evidently it was very common practice to make masks of famous dead people so that sculptures in the future would be able to make realistic busts.   The advent of photography pretty much put an end to that practice.    Below is a link with some more information.

As I continued reading and found out about life masks I knew I was on to something and an idea was born.  Since I constantly think of glass, great delicious, molten piles of glass,  I knew I would have to start casting peoples faces in it.

I wanted to get this project going today so I will leave it here before everyone wakes up.  Many more pictures and updates are on the way including a full slideshow of a life mask from the first plaster of paris mold of the face to the the cut, polished, and faceted finished work.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Love and Light,

                 Jonathan
