NOLA's world music rebels, the Panorama Jazz Band are recording their first LIVE CD at the Spotted Cat. You can help make it happen.
The Panorama Jazz Band is a unique voice on the New Orleans music scene, playing party and carnival music of the Caribbean, Eastern Europe, Latin America and New Orleans.
We've released 4 independent, self-financed recordings to date. Each one an attempt to capture the reckless abandon of a Panorama live set. But truth be told, that piqued fervor is elusive and not native to the recording studio. Like a spirit, it only appears on those nights when we have our beloved New Orleans revelers in the house, pushing the band on to raise the roof off The Spotted Cat Music Club.
For this our 5th CD project we've decided to bring the recording studio to Frenchmen Street and you're invited. We're asking you, our fans and supporters to help us catch lightning in a bottle. Here's how you can participate. First, come to the recording sessions and cheer us on. We'll publicize the dates on Facebook and by email. Second, and most important please consider becoming one of our Kickstarter partners and investing in the first live recording project of the Panorama Jazz Band at the Spotted Cat. This live CD will be the center piece of our new marketing campaign to spread the Panorama vision of jazz to the rest of the country.
Our modest, no frills budget to complete this project is $10417. Your contribution of any size will directly offset the expense of recording, mixing, editing, securing publishing rights, graphic design, packaging and pressing the CD. We're offering some Panorama donor incentives to encourage your participation, which you can read about on the sidebar to the right.
If you've seen the Panorama Jazz Band at the Spotted Cat on one of those memorable Saturday evenings, then you've experienced first hand the magic we're trying to capture. This project has been a year in planning with our instigator, collaborator and co-producer Bill Deputy and we're ready to begin. Yes. Please continue to donate. Our goal represents the minimum amount we need to complete the project. If we receive more than the goal, we will be able to create a much richer experience.

The Panorama Marching Band plays in many of the parades during the two weeks of Mardi Gras. We'll let you know the band's parade schedule well in advance so you can choose the date that works best for you.

For the CD: When the final post production is complete, we will email you where to locate the digital downloads, and mail the CD to your address.
For The Hat: The hats will go in the mail about 6 weeks after the campaign concludes. You'll definitely have it in time for the Mardi Gras parade.
For The Private Party: We will contact you once the campaign concludes and figure out a date that works for both you and the band.
