For the last four years we've been driving around the state of New Jersey, meeting folks and telling their stories through our films.  Our mission was never to be an antidote for how the national media portrays Jersey, but somehow, because what we do is spontaneous and doesn't require contrived nonsense or high ratings, Driving Jersey has become something of a reality check for the most misrepresented and misunderstood state in America. 

In 2011 our site (www.DrivingJersey.com) and project were nominated for an Emmy Award.  Crazy, right?  Two guys from Jersey with nearly empty pockets went up against the major networks.  We didn't win.  We didn't care.  Okay, maybe we cared a little, but our point was always to have fun telling stories, the truth, what's real...and what's beautiful and enlightening about what's real.  In the same year we were asked to join the PBS family, to provide our unique vision to their newly minted NJ Public Media.  Cool, but it didn't mean we were going to be paid or to have an easy time finding funding, finding a sponsor.  It's hard times in America.  We get it. 

So we produced a first season with our own money, just like we've always done, but it stretched us beyond thin and now we need the help of others to keep this drive, this mission alive.  Without a successful fund drive, Driving Jersey will likely have to park it in the driveway and smart and thoughtful visions of our world, our state will have a harder time being seen.

We're asking you to contribute what you can and to spread the word to others, so we can produce a second and future seasons of Driving Jersey, because once and awhile a show comes along, and it's the right show for the time and place, and well...that show, this show, happens to be Driving Jersey. Do what you can.
