An experimental photography project seeking to express female beauty without objectification.
The developed world has a very complex and, often, contradictory relationship with beauty; especially female beauty. No one is happy with the situation. Women blame advertisers for their portrayal of beauty. The advertisers blame the consumers for buying the products sold by these ads. The consumers blame the women who were part of the ads.
And none of that matters. No one wants to stop portraying female beauty, so the real question is "How do we do it right?"
So, I am proposing an expedition into the heart of beauty to try and find an answer. Through a series of experimental photography sessions, I’m hoping to stumble onto a method of presenting a person’s beauty that preserves that person’s essential humanity.
The result of my expedition will be a book, a journal of my journey, with accompanying photographs, chronicling the philosophical, artistic, and technical explorations I undertake in search of humanized beauty.
