Thank you, Thomas, I got the 3 to fit in (black leather, grey felt), but it was a bit of a struggle. Now I'm getting used to the "smartness" of the cover clicking-off/on the device. I don't know what I was thinking wrt the ipad1 unless it was wishful thinking or misunderstanding/just-not-noticing on my part way back when -- but since I now have both & needed a case for the new 3 all is well! I like the grey/black look -- unobtrusive or even serious if necessary.
BTW WRT a "camera hole" -- it is possible to fold back the cover just enough to expose the back camera lens; the cover will still show fuzzily in the bottom of the picture but it'd do in an emergency -- I wouldn't want to stress the material doing that on a regular basis. I take very few pictures anyway so this certainly doesn't bother me. It is also possible to take a picture with the front camera if you just point it at the "target" & are careful about reaching around with your finger to touch the "shutter button."

Hi Elle,
I will work on this. But it will take some time because I don't want users damaging their cases. Just want to make sure that it's really clear and that we can minimize and potential unwanted damage. The felt is an amazing material so it may be as easy as some sort of hole punching tool, but I will check.
And based on user feedback I will certainly consider including this on future iterations of the Don't Panic case!
That said, how is the hammock testing going?
Don't Panic,
Thomas

Thomas, a How-To guide regarding adding a camera hole would be awesome. Thanks and looking forward to it!

Hi Sonia,
Here's the user guide info on the strap:
http://dontpanicproject.com/positions/65
The white leather cases are a tighter fit than the black leather ones. Which one do you have?
Also, to confirm, you're trying to fit either an iPad 2 or iPad 3 right? This case does not fit iPad 1.
The first time you put it on it will be the tightest, but after that it shouldn't be a problem. Don't be afraid to pull on the straps. If you tear your case (which is very unlikely unless you have a defective one), I will send you and new one and test it before sending.
Let me know if this helps and if you need any further technical assistance. I'd love to help!
And no. It's not you. It's the case :)
Don't Panic,
Thomas

I am finding that it is *VERY* tight -- I haven't been able to get my iPad into all 4 straps; even the slightly thinner iP3 won't go in, though it's a bit closer to seeming possible to do.
I do like the shape & texture of the case & look forward to being able to use it. Any suggestions? Is it just me?

Elle,
First off, apologies for misspelling your name earlier :)
If you're really going to do this I would be happy to talk to my manufacturer and put together a DIY guide for adding this modification. You paid good money for your case so I would be happy to put together a semi-professional step-by-step guide on how to do this.
BTW, the Don't Panic User Guide (Version 0.1 beta) went live last night. More updates to that end coming soon!

Hi Thomas... yes, the uber fast delivery was a pleasant surprise! I was thrilled to receive it yesterday (I'm in south west FL.) I'll take the shame for not noticing the missing rear camera "hole"... as I assumed it would likely have one. I didn't use either camera much in the iPad 2, but with the significantly improved camera in the iPad 3 I've already been snapping like crazy (God the display is amazing!) Personally either a hole or perhaps a flap (with magnet?) might be nice. I'll be adding my own hole shortly. I'll send a picture when I do :) LOVE the case though. The blue is a stunning color of blue. Thanks!

Hi Ellie,
Thanks for your feedback.
Wow. USPS shipped so fast. I got these packages to the post office on Saturday and they told me the packages wouldn't ship out until Monday.
To address your comment. Due to the construction of the case it was not possible for us to include a hole for the camera. The case is very versatile and allows for an enormous number of possible positions because of it's works like a tent. But because it works like a tent there is just too much material blocking the way to make a useable camera hole. In the end, because this project is about leisure and relaxation we decided to focus on those aspects of the case.
That said, what is your level of frustration with this feature missing? Was it not clear from the video and photos that there was no camera hole?
I certainly would like to address this issue if it is shared by many users. And I would certainly like to make the presentation of the case more clear if it was misleading in this regard.
I personally have only used the rear facing camera on my iPad a handful of times since I got it, and find that the front facing camera gets 99% of my usage.
I hope this helps and look forward to your response.
And yes indeed! The Don't Panic case fits the iPad3 very nicely. You will find that it is tight in the beginning, but that we did this so that when the leather naturally stretches a bit it will remain a snug and secure fit.

Any suggestions on how to create a "hole" for the iPad's camera? Kinda inconvenient to take it out of the case every time. BTW, the "new iPad" (aka iPad 3) firs just fine. A tad bit tight, but it works.

I might be interested in getting 2 cases, but am currently pledged at the $80 level, how will I go about doing so?
