A couple torn apart by tragedy gets a second chance at happiness, but not without a fight, and not without blood.

Run Devil Run is a completed short film (17-18 minutes in length). The story began in the mind of Cameron Dalton- the film's director, and was originally supposed to be only a short chase sequence through an urban setting, and evolved into a full action/drama that deals with very weighty issues pertaining to human life. It was filmed completely in 1080p HD on Canon DSLR cameras, and was made entirely in Roanoke, Virginia. 

Thanks to the wonderful support of friends, family, and a great crew, the film was completed successfully, and we couldn't be more excited to get it released. That being said, there is one more obstacle that the film must get over in order to see the light of day, and this is where you come in...

We need your help in raising the last bit of funding to pay a top-notch editor to finish editing the film. This is absolutely essential, because without those fine touches that are made in the editing room, a film is never as glorious as it could be. Every dollar you donate will go directly to the editor in order to provide you, and everyone, with a compelling and visually stimulating viewing experience. Upon securing the funds, the film will be finished and given a premier, and then be submitted to film festivals and distributed. 

THE STORY:

Run Devil Run is the story of a couple who's relationship has been torn apart by tragedy and drug abuse. Just when all hope seems lost, they get a second chance at the life they always wanted. However, as you know things aren't typically that easy...

It involves 3 characters, Gabby (Ian Kyle) Alyssa (Kelcy Walton) and Lucas (Alan Dalton). Alyssa's story is a hard one. When she fell in love with Gabby life was simple. After experiencing the tragedy of a miscarriage though, her relationship with Gabby became strained, and without knowing where to turn, she began using drugs and subsequently became indebted to Lucas- a violent drug dealer. 

The film picks up as Alyssa makes her way back to Gabby and explains her desire to find healing and pick up where they left off. Gabby is ready to make this happen any way he can, but it proves more difficult than either of them imagined when Lucas begins to interfere.

There were a number of challenges that this production faced. We filmed mostly on public property, meaning we had no controlled sets. We had to deal with all the challenges of filming on location, i.e. inclimate weather, getting permission to use certain buildings and and surroundings, scheduling conflicts, health problems...you name it. The good news is though, that none of these ever stopped production. We were able to successfully move on, in spite of all the problems and work together to make this film happen.

That being said, the hard part is over. The only challenges that face us now are issues that come up in editing, i.e. going back and doing voice-overs on some dialogue, making sure the music we have chosen fits seamlessly with the cinematography and the sound, etc. These challenges though, can all be dealt with effectively by an editing team who knows what they're doing, and who have shown themselves capable in times past. The next challenge then, you could say, is finding the right editing team for the job. Well, here's another bit of good news...we have already found an editor who has committed to the project. All we need now, is the means to pay him :-) You are our hope. Join with us and be a part of our film.
