Wow it's hard to believe we launched this Kickstarter in February, but release day is finally here. 

For those who are receiving a physical copy:
You should either have it already or it should be arriving any day now. They are all in the mail.

For those who are receiving a digital copy:
Emails went out today containing your unique download code. Each code is good for one free download of the record and is unique to you. Do not share these codes with anyone, since if somebody uses your code before you do, it won't work anymore and you'll be out of luck!

For those who did not receive a copy of the record in their rewards package:
We hope that you'll still take a listen! To find out where you can get a copy, head on over to our Where To Buy page.

For those who didn't get a copy of the record and think they should have, please email me at matt.talmage@gmail.com and I'll look into it. I'm human and there is a lot going on, so it's possible I missed a couple of you.

So all good things are happening! We're getting some great reviews and press about the album, which we will be retweeting and reposting if you follow us on Twitter or like us on Facebook.

We love all of you and are so excited we were able to make this record happen! Without you, we'd be sitting around being bored and miserable at work right now. Now, we can slack off tremendously and promote something that we're really proud and pumped about. So thanks a million times over!

Howdy folks,

For some you, none of this is news. But we wanted to make sure all of our generous backers were aware of what is going on with this project. 

We've adopted an official band name, Man in a Crowd. 

We've finished the record. It's called Don't Paint Your Days So Gray and it comes out on October 23. Those who bought packages that include downloads and/or physical copies of the record, we'll get those to you on or before that date. 

We've released the first single called "Stuck" and you can listen to it by clicking here.

Hey everyone,

We are approaching the end of our fundraising process - only 60 hours to go. I just wanted to post a quick update and thank everyone for their incredible support over the past two months. It's been a personal goal for the past ten or so years to be able to make this type of record in a real studio - and because of your generosity it's finally going to happen!

Just to fill you in on how things are shaping up - So far we have 10 songs completely written and arranged and about four or five "skeletons" of songs that are in various stages of completion. We plan on going into the studio on June 22 and recording about 15 tunes. We'll narrow that down to a 10-12 track record.

So what happens between then and now? 

Shortly after the fundraising period closes on Saturday at 11:00pm, everyone who backed our project will be receiving a survey from us. The survey is used to collect relevant info from you (email address, physical address, etc.) so that we can deliver your rewards. You held up your end of the deal by helping us reach our goal, so rest assured we'll hold up our end of the deal and deliver everything you signed up for in the most timely manner possible.

Also on Saturday night we'll be playing a show at Bar East in New York City. If you can make it to that, we'd be very happy to see you. We'll be trying out a lot of the new tunes and having a generally awesome time. Check out MattTalmage.com for the details and to buy tickets.

From there, we have a lot of work to do. We'll continue to write intensely and tighten up the arrangements of the songs we already have written so that when we hit the studio we aren't wasting any time. We also will have to decide if we're going to keep the Giddyup moniker or choose a slightly more serious band name. We'll start working on a new Facebook fan page, a new web site, album artwork, press pictures, etc. And most importantly, we'll spend June and July tracking and mixing the record.
