Hello Quiet Backers!!  This is a terribly delayed post to announce that we have a beautiful and gory website: quietgirlsguide.com!  Come visit and see all the latest news.  We were just announced as part of SIFF (Seattle International Film Festival), and we are beyond thrilled about it. 

To continue our film submissions, our effort to get Quiet Girl out into an unsuspecting world, for a limited time, we are offering the t-shirt in sizes L-XXL for $10!  If you want another one for a friend, or didn't get one during the campaign, visit our store and pick one up.  You will see the discount once you get to the check out portion.  You can also pick up that Tara McPherson sticker while you're there!  We could use your donations.  Each film submission is costly, averaging around $50 each, so we definitely appreciate your help.

You are invited to a Quiet Girl party and screening on October 24th in Austin, Texas!

Dear Kickstarter friends!  We will finally show the film to our backers, cast, crew and any friend of yours that wants to see it on Wednesday, October 24th at the ND in Austin Texas!

Now that we've officially premiered in Austin, we are free to screen the film for all of you.  Doors are at 8 and we will be screening the film twice, once around 9:30 and once around 11.  (These times are subject to change, but that's my intention).  In between we will have some fun surprises and entertainment.  It will be a good time, and if our facebook invite is any indication, it's shaping up to be attended by a lot of my favorite people.  As it's a few days before my birthday, I'm looking to celebrate.  Not just the film, but all of you.  I hope you will come join us so I can thank you in person for all you've done to support this movie.  You can get tickets at the door.  Or order in advance here. We are using these proceeds for the associated costs of all these festivals.  Not only the fees, but the travel to attend.  Attendance is important, both to promote the screenings and to meet people that may be interested in finding a future for Quiet Girl.

Now of course a lot of you just won't be able to attend this screening.  Because you live in Cleveland.  Or the Philippines.  So I will send out a backer-only email the day after the party with a private vimeo link for you to see the film. Of course I want all of you to be there.  But this is the next best thing.  Promise me you'll watch it in the dark with the sound up.

Other exciting news!  We are going to new festivals!  Rafael is heading to Telluride as we speak for the awesome Telluride Horror Show.  If you are near Telluride and would like to go, our screening info is as follows:

And I will be headed out to North Carolina next month for the Cucalorus Annual Film Festival in Wilmington!  I am so excited that we've been so embraced so early and that travel is in our future.  We are even making our international premier in Bogotá, Columbia at the Zinema Zombie Fest! Sadly, we will not be attending that one.  (Not unless we have a truly epic fundraiser!)

The Quiet Girl's Guide to Violence will make its world premiere at Fantastic Fest!! 

We are so thrilled to announce that we have been officially invited to premiere at the biggest genre festival in the U.S.  FANTASTIC FEST!

We got our t-shirts and the news on the same day!  My house is now full of all these awesome kickstarter rewards and I'm planning on tackling the mailout this weekend.  Here's a photo of me taken outside of the Alamo Drafthouse (home of Fantastic Fest) wearing the shirt, where by coincidence I was watching a movie when I got the news we had been accepted.  This is my deliriously happy face.

Here's a little more about Fantastic Fest.  Warning: You will want to quit your job and go after reading it.)

Fantastic Fest is the largest genre film festival in the U.S., specializing in horror, fantasy, sci-fi, action and just plain fantastic movies from all around the world.
