About this project

We're small but we've got BIG plans!

Madyson's Marshmallows started just a few years ago when our 3 year old daughter Madyson asked us how to make a marshmallow.  We started making hand-made marshmallows and sharing them with our family and friends.  These things were a hit!  

From a child's sweet curiosity, we grew a small family business and nurtured it to a successful mail order and wholesale business with marshmallow lovin' customers nationally.  Who knew!

Now, we've got two years of business under our belt and sales have doubled, if not tripled year over year.  Our long term goal is to have our own gourmet chocolate shop.  Today, we're looking to take the next step in making that dream come true.  We’re looking to lease a tiny 500 square foot facility and set up shop with a triple sink, a dishwasher, a stove top, a fridge and stainless steel tables.  Your contributions will go a long way in helping us get established in our own place.

We also need larger chocolate machines.  We have a tiny little chocolate machine right now and it just can't keep up.  

What's so different about our marshmallows?

First, we hand pipe each marshmallow into molds.  We don't cut them into squares like your average marshmallow maker.  This makes for a smooth, soft marshmallow every single time.  It also allows us to make creative designs and shapes with our marshmallows.

Second, we add chocolate.  Need we say more?  We dip our marshmallows in chocolate and add our hand-made caramel, praline, graham or other gourmet toppings to the top.  YUM!

We make modern s'mores!  Have you ever roasted a marshmallow with peanut butter chips inside?  Toffee chips?  We make our marshmallows with a variety of chips inside so that when you roast them, the chips melt inside the marshmallow.  Take THESE on your next camping trip!

All about Miss Madyson:

Madyson is six years old now and continues to be the inspiration for our company.  She dreams up new flavors while she's upside down in a hand-stand or bouncing across the living room in a cartwheel.  She is full of exuberance and not short of new marshmallow ideas.  Our bacon and chocolate topped marshmallow came about one morning while she was grubbin' on breakfast.  "Hey Mom!  I have a great marshmallow idea!"  We hear this often in our home.

Her only job is to dream BIG and our only job is to make her marshmallow dreams come true!

Why we need Kickstarter

We operate from a rented kitchen facility with small equipment.  We shuffle our supplies back and forth (and back and forth) and we are limited to when we can access the kitchen.  This started as a weekend business but now we're getting orders daily and we can no longer rely on the limited schedule and space of a rented kitchen.  We’re looking to lease a small commercial space and set up shop with a triple sink, a dishwasher, a stove top, a fridge and stainless steel tables.  

We also need larger chocolate machines that can help us speed up parts of our process and produce our marshmallows more efficiently and with more consistently.  We have a very small chocolate machine now that can't keep up.  We are constantly refilling the chocolate machine.  We need to upgrade to a bigger machine!

It's worth saying again...every contributor to our project over $20 will taste our marshmallows.  We believe that once you taste our product, you will become a fan and tell your friends about us.  In fact, we're relying on you to tell your friends about us.  "Oh hey man, you've got to try these marshmallows!  They are unbelievable!"
