Thank you for taking the time to check out my Kickstarter page!  I really appreciate it!!  So, here’s my story:

I’ve played guitar and sang in rock bands for over half my life, and in June of 2011 I grew a pair and quit my office job to work on music full-time!!  Instead of going into the office every day, I went to my rehearsal lockout studio in West LA to write and record the demos for this album.  I supplemented my music skills by taking vocal/guitar lessons, and applied an enhanced knowledge of music theory/song writing. 

In December I was introduced to producer/engineer Eddie Hedges, and from there the music exploded.  We were able to get some of the best musicians in Los Angeles and Las Vegas involved, all of whom catapulted the songs to a new level. 

The resulting album is an energetic collection of 3-minute alt/rock singles featuring smooth vocal harmonies and unexpected transitions, fusing the genres of rock, funk, and pop.  The collection of songs range in style from aggressive rock to Vaudeville, with audible influences from The Beatles, Garbage, Grateful Dead, Dandy Warhols, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Alice N Chains, and NOFX.  The songs were inspired by the atmosphere absorbed over the past 7 years living a stone-throw away from the sand in Venice (featured in the Kickstarter video), an urban beach community in Los Angeles affectionately described by locals as the place "where art meets crime."  A recurring theme of the lyrics is the identification of the human condition at various states of awareness . . . from lamenting a life once blissfully unaware to proclamations to accept the unknown.

Tracking and mixing are complete. I'm looking to music fans like yourself who are interested in helping lift a project off the ground! I still need to master the songs, print the cds, and market the album to maximize exposure and ensure that the album gets heard!!  I'm all in at this point.  Literally ALL my life savings are invested, and now I'm in bed with Citicards! Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, I moved to Los Angeles in 2004 and formed the band Altitude with drummer Mike Duff, completing the album "Homage" with producer/engineer Steve Ewing of The Urge.  Prior to Altitude, I fronted the funk-rock outfit Mid-City Flavor, and recorded the 10-song album "Instinct" in Omaha's Warehouse Productions Studio with engineer Jim Homan.
