Resistentialism is the idea that inanimate objects are conspiring to thwart human desires.

Objects Attack is the story of Lovey Chambers [pictured above] a passionate but incompetent woman who, after undergoing hypnosis, finds herself in the midst of a resistential crisis. Not only are the objects confounding her, but her boyfriend has vanished and been replaced by an exact duplicate (who doesn't seem to recognize her.) Desperate to find love and restore order to her chaotic life, Lovey must uncover the source of the objects' anger-

-and there is a shoot-out with a psychotic cowboy preacher.

Objects Attack is an experiment in production as well as narrative. Those who know me well know that I am always looking for cheaper ways to tell my stories in film. This past year I have been shooting miles of Super 8 footage and I have grown to love it. Super 8 is warm, gritty and a little sleazy... so why not shoot a feature on it?

That's right, Super 8--the stuff your folks used to shoot their home movies on--I'm shooting a feature-length film on it. For those in the know, it'll all be shot on black and white reversal. Super 8 cameras are small, cheap and plentiful (I have 5 at my disposal for this project) and I will be working with a skeleton crew of 3 people; we will be mobile, fast and light. I am certain that the energy of production will translate to the screen.

Objects Attack is a labor of love. A generous donor has pledged $5000 to cover film stock and processing, my cast and crew are all volunteering their time and resources, and I'm not renting out equipment; I just need to raise $5500 to pay for a high-definition transfer of the film. A high-def transfer will allow me to edit and finish the film digitally without losing picture quality. I'll be taking an old film stock and manipulating it using 21st century technology.
