My outstanding supporters,

Seeing as you have launched me well over the halfway mark on day #3 of 30, some of you are asking about my plans should your pledges exceed the funding goal. In the FAQ, I explained I’d be using the surplus to promote and market the book. And to produce more rewards for YOU. All true!

In the auspicious event of your pledges far exceeding my goal, first will come the extra rewards. After that I plan to use your super-abundance of funding to record a CD of songs as a companion piece to help promote and market the book. There are songs I wrote during the period of time I'm writing about which were never released, some never recorded.

But lest this be confusing, please note: I will only use funds that exceed my goal here for this book project, NO NEW YORK: Adventures in the Town of Empty, toward a companion music CD.

What a great way to promote a book… with more stories, set to music! These are trying times. I refuse to allow anyone to shame me for believing artists can excel at more than one ‘discipline’. <- case in point. Agreed, discipline is germane to craft, but what an awful word to use for artistic expression! We're sorely in need of a new renaissance; with Kickstarter and your patronage as our Medicis of today, it’s happening. NOW. To quote Patti Smith, “The people have the power.”

But first things first. Please help me reach my goal so I can concentrate on writing my time in the town of empty, and bringing this book to completion. And once again, thank you for this tremendous show of support!
