MORE ABOUT ME // my name is Tyler Richardson; I illustrated and wrote the text for the anatomy flash card project. I am currently a graduate student studying Cell and Molecular Biology at Grand Valley State University located in my hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan. I previously earned Bachelor Degrees in Biomedical Science and Cell and Molecular Biology also at Grand Valley State University. In the near future I hope to pursue my PhD in Molecular Biology.

For as long as I can remember I have been captivated by learning, and where education can take a person. I would spend hours as a kid pouring over any books I could find about science, art, history, business, and everything in-between. Despite this, the only thing I ever really knew was that I wanted to give back. Much later - in my early undergraduate years- I began studying anatomy, and I was enthralled. I found myself spending more and more time in the anatomy lab, and one day I decided that I would use my knowledge of anatomy, business, and illustrating to create a muscle flash card set for the class I was in. I then approached an anatomy professor to see if she would be willing to guide me and professionally edit the flash cards, and she agreed with enthusiasm. Since then we have published several flash card sets for my university and have been working towards our first national release. In the process I started a small publishing company, VELA Workings, which works with local commercial printers. Publishing gives me the opportunity to work with dedicated and talented professionals from multiple disciplines, an excuse to keep growing and learning, an opportunity to give back to the community, and the chance to work with people like you who have a genuine interest in others educations.
