How did i get here?
Back in October of 2011 I went to a showcase in Nashville, TN put on by "Band with a Mission". Shortly after the showcase I was contacted by Nathan Walters and Gabe Combs of Multitone Musik about the possibility of recording with them. One thing led to another and after a 2 hour meeting we reached an agreement to write and record this single. These are two amazing guys that have been in the music industry for a while (Plus One). From the making of this kickstarter video to the future of getting this song to national radio, these guys have been awesome.
We have had a couple of Skype song-writing sessions and I also have made a second trip to Nashville. Once this project is fully funded I will be heading back to Nashville to complete this project. This is where you can become part of the project simply by selecting an amount of $1 or more and claiming your reward if the project is fully funded!
More history
I decided a few years ago that this is the direction I wanted to head in as a career. I have been blessed in so many ways over the last 5 years with the production of 2 full length albums and a couple of singles (www.mariahhostrander.com). My parents have been very supportive of my goals and have been working "behind the scenes" to give me a chance at success. I know this is a tough business but I have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by people who believe in me and support me in many ways including prayer, financial and other support needed to succeed in this music business.

Compared to Natalie Merchant but a bit more rockin', Mariah Hostrander is a praise and worship artist with a folk/pop-rock sound.
Mariah Hostrander began her singing/songwriting career in 2006 at the age of 13. With influences from BarlowGirl to Paul Baloche, Mariah has captured the muse to deliver a compelling folk-rock sound with well-crafted lyrics that tell life stories easy for most people to appreciate.
Mariah Hostrander's first full-length project, "Beautiful Scars" was released in 2008, followed by a Christmas single "The Angels Sing" in 2009. Fast forward to 2011 and "Picture It," impeccably expands her discography with her first national release with Tate Music Group.
Now for 2012 Mariah is teaming up with award winning producers and musicians Nathan Walters and Gabe Combs of Multitone Music in Nashville TN (Dove Award winners from the group Plus One).
Mariah will be writing and producing the single along side of Nathan and Gabe. Several songs will be written and one of the songs will be chosen to be released to radio on a national level in the spring of 2012.
Most important to Mariah, "Ultimately, I want to glorify God with the gift He's given me and I want to reach and inspire people."
As well, recently Mariah has teamed up with the Principled Warrior Foundation. To show her support she wrote a song titled "I'm Alive" and will be donating 50% of the proceeds to the foundation. This foundation is being established to provide support to our servicemen and servicewomen and their families with PTSD and brain injuries.
