In a CG animated story the robot R-20 seeks freedom to love an organic woman.

~R-20~

R-20 reveals and explores the internal power that drives us. Our main character R-20 awakens to find himself abandoned in an old rusty store.  as if still in a nightmare, he searches within for a resource state never used to reach out for what he loves. 

To create this CG film, we built a scale model of 4.2 feet long by 2.6feet wide for the background and environment. We used stop motion animation to capture the room. The 3D highly detailed model integrates into this room. We put 3D bones in 3D and then animate it using a software called Maya.

Diego Dominguez (Writer, Director )
Since graduating 3 years ago from Gnomon, multi-lingual and bi-cultural writer/director Diego Dominguez works internationally supervising commercials, music videos and short films 

While based in Mexico city, Dominguez is associated with Gretel Studios (participant in creation of Narnia) which supports the animation of R-20 with facilities and actual animation assistance.

George Saavedra - Rigger of R-20 (Also worked on Transformers as a  technical artist)
Federico Fabregas - Industrial designer , Built the scale model.
Frank Dellafemina - Storyboard Artist.
Ana Ruiz -- original music score  (the pianist who brought free jazz to Mexico several decades ago). 


~How You CAN HELP~:

Your contribution through kickstarter will provide the Post production processes like  original music  and  special effects, as well as integrating the rendering (Render Farm ), compositing, sound design, color correcting and editing.  And finally, the Kickstarter fund allows entry of this animated short in every appropriate film festivals.

The completion day is approximately within two weeks of the end of October.

When we receive pledges exceeding $1000 of our goal, we will prepare storyboards for the next part of R-20 and make a Web copies available to each person having pledged funds for this project.
