Pursued by monsters, Kai and his friends hunt clues to solve a mystery on their quest to free the Guardians.

The Guardians

After his victory at the rip in the final moments of Flight of Blue, Kai Williams discovers all the Guardians including his parents have been lured inside time bubbles where minutes tick by so slowly, they don’t realize they are trapped. While trying to find a way to free them, Kai is stalked by a mysterious figure called the Dream Walker who attacks Kai while he’s sleeping and is bent on getting an object--a small skeleton key--away from him. Kai goes to his friends for help to keep the Dream Walker at bay and find a way to free the Guardians. Together they discover clues that lead them on a quest for the secret cabinet  of the ancient sorceress Belladonna and the powerful object she hid away before her disappearance, an object that will break the time bubbles and release the Guardians. Pursued by Name Monsters who have teamed up to fight them, will Kai and his friends be able to outwit the forces arrayed against them and free the Guardians? And will Kai be victorious in the war being waged for his mind while he dreams?

The Keeper of the Keys Chronicles

The Guardians is book two of the Keeper of the Keys Chronicles. There will be one more after The Guardians to complete the trilogy. The first volume, Flight of Blue, was released on July 24, 2012. 

The Project

I need your help to bring The Guardians to the world. In addition to raising a toddler and writing, I also run a photography and design business. However, if I can reach my goal, I can focus only on writing until The Guardians is finished and the bring it out in 2013.

Stretch Goals

  • If we reach $8000.00, I will write and release a short story that tells the whole of Shadrach's story from his perspective (a short version is told to Kai in Flight of Blue). If we hit this goal, everyone who backs The Guardians will receive an e-copy of "Shadrach's Story" in addition to their other goodies.
  • If we reach $9500.00, I will hire an illustrator to do chapter illustrations for The Guardians. Each backer will receive a digital copy of one of the illustrations suitable for a desktop or screen saver image, and backers who select the $50 level or above will also receive an art postcard of the illustration.
