Update #14: On Press in Germany!
Gutten Tag to my wonderful backers,
Here are a few shots of what it looks like being on press at the Pomp printing plant in Bottrop, Germany. We're having 1,500 copies of American Ecstasy printed on a state of the art Heidelberg off set press. Ken and I spent eleven hours here the first day checking and adjusting every page as they came off the press.
Next week we'll visit the bindery to watch them turn the pages in to real books. Then eventually they'll be shrink wrapped and packed for the slow boat trip over to New York.
It's so exciting to be here and see it happening at last. I can't wait for you to see the book!!!

Update #13: Progress Report on THE BOOK!
Hi Fabulous Backers,
Just wanted to let you all know that I looked at the first round of the book layout today, and it's GORGEOUS!!!! My designer Svenja Knoedler has done a magnificent job, and I can't tell you how exciting it is to see this book really happening.
I'll begin sending out rewards in the next couple of weeks to everybody who pledged for anything other than the book itself. Oh, which means I'll be sending out a note soon looking for your mailing addresses.

I am so overwhelmed I don't know what to say.
Above all else you guys have made this campaign SO MUCH FUN!!!!
I am staggered by how much you all helped in so many ways - by telling your friends, posting on Facebook, writing in your blogs, sending me beautiful, encouraging and very funny notes. By adding your energy and your spirit to this project, and by putting up the money that will make it happen.
There are just no words for what I'm feeling right now. Thank you all so much.

I've made my goal and raised $26,000 with my Kickstarter campaign to publish AMERICAN ECSTASY! I'm hoping we can raise another $5,000 before the campaign ends this Friday at 8:24pm EST.

Barbara Nitke is a New York fine art and commercial photographer, best known for her compassionate view of alternative sex. Her career has taken her from behind-the-scenes of hardcore porn sets in the 1980’s, to fetish porn in the 1990’s, and into the private lives of BDSM lovers for the following decade.
She also does photography for mainstream television shows and the fashion industry. Her work has been shown and collected worldwide.
