ABOUT THIS PROJECT

WOW! Thank you to all our pledgers! YOU DID IT! The goal has been met. That being said, we still need your help. The more funding we get the better we can get the message out! More travel funding is needed, funding for post production and greater production value helps as well! We will be holding meetings with some very special organizations this week that will have a hand in the film as far as resources for the Veterans goes. Exciting stuff for sure! And, I will be in the city this week beating the streets with our homeless Veterans as well, hearing their stories.

Shame on America

Music video director and photographer Fran Strine is directing and producing his first non-music documentary titled “Shame on America”. Co-Producing the project is Staind front man a rising Country Star, Aaron Lewis.

Narrating the Film is legendary Megadeth bassist, David Ellefson.

Shame on America is a full-length documentary that tells the raw and tragic details of what life is like as an Iraq and Afghanistan veteran today. Most veterans suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and numerous have fallen homeless with severe mental issues leaving them no break from the hell that is their daily life.

On any given night not far from your front door there are upwards of 75,000 veterans trying to survive the brutal conditions of the streets. The VA has seen the backlog of disability claims increase to 864,000 with the majority suffering from PTSD. Find out how and why this is happening in one of the wealthiest countries in the world.

Explore with us as we spend the night and for a moment in time, share in the extreme reality of life after war. Learn what is happening in America today; watch us confront politicians on this very important issue and hear their plans, if any, to help these important people. Find out what we as a society can do to help! With your assistance we can shine a spotlight on this tragic and devastating situation.

Staind front man and passionate patriot, Aaron Lewis, has signed on as Co-Producer and here is what he had to say.

“I was aware that homelessness and PTSD were an issue, but Fran brought some really alarming numbers and true statistics to the table. I knew then I had to be part of this film. To know that our sons and daughters have committed themselves, sacrificed everything for us, followed the orders they are given only to come home to nothing hit me hard. For these men and women to have psychological issues that require immediate attention, have to be reviewed by a panel with a year long wait to see if they might qualify for the benefits they are owed and many becoming homeless in the process really bothers me. I love my country and cherish the women and men of the armed forces even more. America should be ashamed.”

David Ellefson bassist of Megadeth who is lending his voice as the films narrator was equally as impassioned when notified of the documentary and said, “I think this film is long overdue to tell the story of the brokenness that befalls so many of the frontline warriors who gave all for our personal freedoms and civil liberties. They have traveled a mile in shoes none of us could ever fully comprehend, until now”.

How your pledge helps

Your pledge will assist our film crew of four, over a 12-week shooting period to cover transportation, lodging costs, secure permits, insurance, film festival entries, music, and much more. If we meet our goal and go over we will put the funds to work in Production Value and Post Production.
