Michael and I are thrilled to be embarking upon our first evening length work together! The show will serve as both of our senior projects at the University of Montana as students of Dance. We decided to do our own show off campus because we wanted the experience of creating and producing our own evening length work. Having successful collaborations in the past, we decided that we wanted to do it again but on a bigger scale. The work involved in creating and producing your own show is huge. However we couldn't be more excited about it. The experience and knowledge gained is invaluable. We'd like to welcome you to our Kickstarter Campaign. 

To tell you a little bit about our project:

Murmur is an evening length dance work created by Michael Becker and Collin Ranf that will premiere April 27th and run through the 29th with nightly shows at 8 pm and 2 matinees at 2 pm on April 28th and 29th. It features five local dancers including Michael. The show is being produced by the newly founded Artist in Residence Program at the Downtown Dance Collective in Missoula, Montana.

This show uses dance with media projection to explore themes of birth, transformation and aging. These themes are universal. Our show intends to open people's eyes to the vastness of our world and our lives. This work strives to enliven and invigorate the senses as well as the intellect. It will offer the audience a visceral and unique vantage point because of the intimate space provided by the Downtown Dance Collective that few spaces offer.  

The technical elements of the show include two major set pieces that consist of metal door frames with a cocoon like structure suspended in the middle, three projectors and six flat vertical panels that will serve as a projection backdrop.

Where will your contributions go?

We are very fortunate to have the support of the Downtown Dance Collective and the Missoula community. However we need help to cover our expenses such as:

- Costumes

- Aerial fabric - (which will constitute the cocoon structure)

- Projector rentals

- Marketing Promotions - Posters, Postcards, Photography etc. 

 Any extra funds that we raise will go towards paying our dancers and crew
