I am a working photographer living in Brooklyn NY with my fifth solo exhibition scheduled for May 2012. This body of work will be photographs of Majorca, Spain and the majestic Versailles Palace. On a recent trip to Europe I found myself astounded by the beauty of these locales, and was thus inspired to present the stark contrast of the rough hewn nature of Majorca with the man made splendor of Versailles.The photos are printed the old fashioned way, in the dark room, with chemicals and photo paper. I love the depth that dark room developing can achieve. The process of going into the dark room, setting up my negatives and then seeing the images slowly emerge from the chemical bath for the first time, is an intimate and crucial aspect of my creative practice. The photographs reveal themselves and their meaning to me in the darkness, and in turn reveal aspects of myself.With 25 rolls of yet to be processed film and a pending deadline, this project needs to get underway. I seek your help to fund this large undertaking, from film development to darkroom materials plus the various costs of producing a professional exhibit. At this beginning phase, I am very eager to see which imagery will unfold in the darkroom, in order to best figure out it's ultimate presentation.Many thanks,Amy Williams
