I'm So Indie No One Has Ever Heard of Me…
…But you can change that.
A couple of years ago I had a band. It was actually signed to an small label in Nashville. We were making a record and it came out kind of country. Well, a lot country.
We got to work with lots of really great people, but the music didn't sound like what I had in my head.
I wanted to create a really amazing pop record, but they (the producer, record label, guy who brought bagels to the meetings) weren't interested in that.
I learned that committees don't make great art. So that's why I'm making the record that for years people have been asking me to make -- the one that "sounds like me."
I'm going into the best studio I know, with the best musicians I know, asking the best fans I know to help make this record happen.
What we need to make this project a success is $4500 in 45 days.
That gets the following:
- Studio time (with all the shiny buttons)
- Sound Engineer (the guy who will eventually auto tune me)
- Musicians (the kind who wear V-necks, so you know they're good)
- Mastering Engineer (the guy who makes it sound like it belongs on the radio)
- CD Duplicator (the guy who makes copies of the CD so I can get you 1 or 10)
On a more serious note, the message of this EP is one I believe in with all my heart.
What I want to say both with the music and how I'm releasing it is that you don't need Hollywood or Madison Avenue or a record label to determine your worth.
I need your help, your support, and yes, some of your hard-earned money to get the message out there.
