Kickstarter

        Hello cherished fan of The Mothership.  Do you like us?  'Cuz we sure appreciate the heck out of you.  We'll start out by saying that our first album 'Ten Miles Wide' was a truly fun project for us to make.  Every artist needs to have their first piece of work in order to further their creativity and grow.  We went in to that project with the notion that we had a bunch of cool songs and just wanted to release as soon as possible.  We were eager to get on the map!  Thankfully, the album has been met with positive reception which has fueled us to continue writing... a lot!

       We are SUPER STOKED right now.  Why?  Because we have been doing our best to push ourselves creatively and we already have 5-6 completed songs that sound like an evolved version of us.  June and and early July will be totally dedicated to writing MORE new songs that fit our current mold.  We'll say, at the very least, that we are VERY excited to show you this new music.   

       The fact of the matter is that we want this second album to be done with extra TLC and get it RIGHT!  Unfortunately, "right" means we need extra funding.  We will be chipping much of our own cash into this project but we just can't do it justice this time around if we can't get the studio time we need,  create an awesome looking CD with a new artist, get the right promo to back the project etc. etc. etc. We want to create the BEST album possible for YOU and making records ain't cheap.   

       The beautiful thing about all Kickstarter campaigns is that whenever you back a project, you're truly taking money out of the pockets of "the man" (corporations that sterilize art) and are putting it into independent art and culture,  aka the real thing.  We hope that you take a look at our "Rewards" and find a package that suits both your tastes and your budget.  The most important thing to us is that you SHARE this page with all of your contacts that appreciate The Mothership and/or the things we have talked about in this message.
